I like the idea of the surge for one reason. We don't want to let the people we are fighting, know how many troops are in Iraq. For instance, if there is always 20,000 troops there, then they can plan on it. But if there is 18,000 troops there one month, then 25,000 troops next month. They can't plan on how many troops will be there.

Personally, I think municipalities should only invest in proven technologies. Let me give you an examples.

Roads. Before the Federal government poured the millions of dollars into them, their were a bunch of smaller roads connected together.

Telephone industry. Before the telephone industry their was a bunch of different cable companies with their own wires, etc.

When hear a local government investing into wireless internet technology. Perhaps they should let the technology mature first? However, the one exception is internet access at the local library or colleges. Which I'm for on the basis it's cheaper then setting and maintaining desktop machines.

Fat or short descrimation

Personally, I have had coworkers make comments about my weight. Although I find such remarks distasteful, they aren't worth filing a lawsuit over. The thing is I work harder then people who are skinnier than me.

I bring this up because of the subject of weight bias. Personally, if your going to make a weight a protected state, then you should also give some protection for the employer. To me it's not the employer that should be liable, but the one doing the act.

One of my biggest pet peeves

One of my biggest pet peeves, is when people have money but they don't want to pay people what they are due. I know someone who went to work for a cleaning company. The company has plenty of money, but doesn't want to pay the wages they are due.

So she took the case to the DA. Now she's waiting till they have something. Meanwhile her kid's in the hospital pregnant.

Scripture cookie

One idea I thought of is a scripture cookie. Have like quotes from the proverbs. Could be a good thing for youth groups to raise money on with bake sales.

History Class

You perhaps more kids would be interested in history if the teachers would teach it more interestingly. For example, perhaps bring the kids to a renaisance fair, or civil war renactment. I mean kids get off school to do sports, why not actually learn something.
